The Municipality of
Resistencia is the capital of the Chaco Province. It is locate in the Department
of San Fernando.
Its flag was adopted in July 2019.
"Under the
pseudonym Jorge Quinto, Sacha Mijail Vanioff was chosen as the winner among 38
initiatives presented to be converted into the Resistencia flag. The president
of the Municipal Council, Gustavo Martínez, along with his colleague María
Teresa Celada, and the members of the jury presented the winning design of the
“A Flag for Resistance” contest.
Initiative agreed upon by all the
councilors of the communal Legislature “to leave a cultural legacy to the city.”
The 38 initiatives were evaluated by a jury made up of Fabriciano Gómez, Marilyn
Cristofani, Fabio Echarri, Rolando Andolfi and Daniel Svenson, along with three
councilors.
IT'S NOW OFFICIAL
During the conference, which was
also attended by the president of Fogón Friulano, Horacio Martino; and the
secretary of the Ente Friuli Nel Mondo, Cristian Canciani, the jury presented
the councilors with the officialization certificate of the winning project, and
thus the design that will carry the Resistencia flag was made official. It was
created by Sacha Mijail Vanioff, 27 years old, who entered the contest under the
pseudonym Jorge Quinto.
Martínez thanked the broad participation of all
those registered in the contest and the Social Club for providing its facilities
to carry out the presentation of the winner. She also thanked her peers María
Cecilia Baroni, one of the authors of this initiative, and María Teresa Celada,
co-author.
MORE GROWTH
He based this action on “ensuring that
Resistencia can grow in identity, having a flag that identifies it to the
country and the world.”
He insisted on the importance of high
participation, because “there were 38 proposals from neighbors and local
institutions that took care of and thought about this emblem.” And he added the
commitment of the evaluation commission “which carried out hard work,
selflessly, collaborating with its capacity and time.”
Celada was in
charge of reporting on the winning project and highlighted that the design was
chosen by the majority of the jury. She also indicated that special mentions as
finalists were given to two more projects presented under the pseudonyms
“Resistenciana”, by Alfredo Jorge Gómez and Marcelo Aníbal Benítez; and
“Ladeli”, by Luis Alberto Devincenzi.
Regarding the contest, he said that
he is proud that a 27-year-old young man is the winner: “With his flag model, he
transports us resisters to each of the icons of our city and that is very
important, because he took into account our vegetation, sky, lagoons and our
cultures, in addition to that significant sun.”
